Description
Clone AC104.3E3 recognizes the human CD33 antigen, a glycoprotein of 67 kDa belonging to the sialoadhesin superfamily. It also cross-reacts with rhesus monkey (Macaca mulata) and cynomolgus monkey (Macaca fascicularis) cells. The CD33 antigen is highly expressed on human monocytes but weakly on granulocytes and some — but not all — myeloid dendritic cells. The CD33 antigen is also found on myeloid progenitor cells (CFU-GEMM, CFU GM, CFU-G, BFU-E) but is not expressed on lymphocytes, platelets, erythrocytes, or primitive hematopoietic stem cells.
Applications
The CD33 antibody can be used to identify and enumerate CD33+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. CD33-PE is suitable for MACS® Control applications. For further details, please refer to the data sheet of the separation reagent.
