| Whole Blood CD8 MicroBeads |
|
| Description |
Whole Blood CD8 MicroBeads were developed for rapid positive selection of CD8+ cells directly from whole blood or bone marrow. No sample preparation is required, including density gradient centrifugation or erythrocyte lysis. Anticoagulated cell samples of 0.25–15 mL are labeled with Whole Blood CD8 MicroBeads to be subsequently separated with the autoMACS® Pro Separator or the autoMACS Separator, or using the Whole Blood Column Kit. In whole blood the CD8 antigen is expressed on human cytotoxic T cells and on a subset of CD16+ NK cells. The CD8 antigen acts as an accessory molecule in the recognition of MHC class I/peptide complexes by the TCR heterodimer on CD8+ cytotoxic T cells. |
| Applications |
Whole Blood MicroBeads allow the fast isolation of CD8+ cells directly from whole blood or bone marrow, thus minimizing hands-on time and maximizing yield of target cells. Whole Blood MicroBeads in combination with the autoMACS® Separators allow standardization of the cell separation procedure and safe handling of hazardous samples1. The purified CD8+ cells are well-suited for further flow cytometric, functional, or molecular analysis including lineage-specific chimerism analysis after allogeneic stem cell transplantation2,3.
