The PIQORâ„¢ SkinPatho Microarray comprises altogether 1,132 genes associated with pathological expression changes in human skin. Within the frame of Miltenyi Biotec's dermatology research program, more than 800 consented patient biopsies in four inflammatory diseases, three skin cancers and healthy skin were collected and gene expression profiling analyses were performed.
The selected genes reflect the outcome of whole genome and PIQOR Skin Microarray analyses. Main topics are disease-specific gene expression changes of malignant melanoma and psoriasis. For instance, melanoma-associated antigens, S100 genes, or genes from the psoriasis susceptibility locus are part of the microarray. The collection is completed by important genes related to basal and squamous cell carcinoma, lichen planus, and contact and atopic dermatitis.
Overall, PIQOR SkinPatho Microarray consists of genes associated with inflammation and malignant transformation in human skin. Relevant genes for cytokine signaling, stress, cell cycling, and signal transduction are included. Important surface markers, structural proteins, and extracellular matrix proteins round off the configuration.
The PIQOR SkinPatho Microarray is available as a convenient microarray kit or within the scope of Microarray Service. Please see download area for "Further information"
