Overview
NH AdipoDiff Medium is an optimized differentiation medium for the generation of adipocytes from human mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) deriving from various tissue sources. It is suitable for the analysis or quality control of the differentiation capacity of expanded MSCs, or in vitro studies into the processes involved in MSC differentiation to adipocytes, including gene expression or protein profiling.

Adipocytes (fat cells) play a critical role in the storage of energy as lipids, in the overall regulation of the body‘s metabolism, and as an endocrine organ. Adipocytes have a profound effect on human physiology and have been identified as a risk factor for metabolic diseases, such as non-insulin dependent diabetes, cancer, arteriosclerosis, obesity, or cardiovascular diseases (e.g. hypertension). To understand the development and regulation of adipocytes (adipogenesis) is important for research into the treatment or prevention of metabolic or cardiovascular diseases.
