thermoMACSâ„¢ Separator
The thermoMACS Separator is a heatable magnetic device for molecule isolation and in-column processing. Target molecules, magnetically labeled with the extremely small µMACS™ MicroBeads, are retained on the µ Column placed in the thermoMACS Separator. Thereby, nucleic acids, such as mRNA, as well as protein, or molecular complexes are efficiently purified from cell lysates with MACS® Column Technology. For enzymatic treatment of molecules bound on the µ Column, the thermoMACS Separator can be switched to 37 °C or 42 °C. This allows in-column cDNA synthesis on mRNA directly purified from cells. Further applications include enzymatic protein assays or DNA modifications. Such in-column reactions save time and target molecules: tube-to-tube transfer, precipitation, or separate purification steps are avoided. The thermoMACS Separator can hold up to four µ Columns to process four samples simultaneously. The µMACS Sealing Solution is a unique solution that creates a closed reaction chamber in the µ Column.
