μ Columns
Description µ Columns are especially designed for small-scale molecular biology and protein biochemistry applications in combination with the µMACS™ or thermoMACS™ Separator. Molecules labeled with the extremely small MACS MicroBeads are retained by the strong magnetic field of the column matrix in the separator. Unlabeled material can be efficiently washed away, minimizing loss of target molecules. Additionally, enzymatic processing of molecules, such as cDNA synthesis, can be performed on the µ Column placed in the thermoMACS™ Separator. Elution of the target molecules can be performed in a small convenient volume, for example 50 µL. The versatile applications using µ Columns include mRNA isolation and cDNA synthesis, immunoprecipitation, purification of DNA and RNA binding proteins, protein interaction studies, or display technologies. µ Columns are used for cell lysates from up to 107 cells.
