CD271 (LNGFR)-FITC Antibody
|
Description
LNGFR (low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor, CD271) belongs to the low-affinity neurotrophin receptors and the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. The receptor can be found in the central and peripheral nervous system on autonomic and sensory neurons but also on glial cells including oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, and Schwann cells. Additionally, CD271 (LNGFR) is expressed on bone marrow stromal cells (MSC), follicular dendritic cells, and on mesenchymal cells involved in mesenchymal-epithelial interactions.
Applications
The CD271 (LNGFR) antibody can be used to identify and enumerate CD271 (LNGFR)+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. CD271 (LNGFR)-FITC can be used to control the transfection efficiency of cells transfected with pMACS LNGFR or pMACS LNGFR-IRES before labeling with MACSelect LNGFR MicroBeads.

Figure 1
Jurkat cells were transfected with the human LNGFR gene and mixed with untransfected cells. Mixed cells were stained with CD271 (LNGFR)-FITC, and analyzed by flow cytometry. Cell debris and dead cells were excluded from the analysis based on scatter signals and PI fluorescence.
