| Description |
The VarioMACS™ Separator gives the flexibility to isolate from a few hundred to over 200 million target cells from populations hundreds of times larger. The VarioMACS Separator is suitable for both positive selection of target cells and depletion of unwanted cells. High purities even of rare cells (i.e. cells with frequencies down to 10-8) can be obtained. Alternatively, up to 2×108 cells can be depleted from cell suspensions allowing the isolation of untouched target cells. In addition to many applications using MACS® MicroBeads, the VarioMACS Separator has been used for the enrichment of Plasmodium falciparum-infected erythrocytes without magnetic labeling1. MS, LS, LD, CS, and Whole Blood Columns can be used with the VarioMACS Separator. Adapters for inserting MS Columns or LS, LD and Whole Blood Columns into the magnetic field are provided with the VarioMACS Starting Kit. |
