Overview
The Anti-MSCA-1 antibody is used for the detection and quantification of MSCs with high proliferative capacity from bone marrow or other tissues by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.
Details
Background information Clone W8B2 recognizes the mesenchymal stromal cell antigen-1 (MSCA-1). MSCA-1 was shown to be restricted to mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in the CD271bright population in bone marrow1. These CD271brightCD45dim MSCs have a much higher clonogenic capacity compared to the CD271+CD45+ fraction in bone marrow1. Therefore, MSCA-1 is a suitable marker to identify MSCs with a high proliferative potential. |
Cross-reactivity

- pig
- sheep
- goat

Figure 1
Human bone marrow mononuclear cells (BM-MNCs) were stained with Anti-MSCA-1 (W8B2) antibodies conjugated to PE (A), APC (B), or Biotin (C). Cells stained with Anti-MSCA-1 (W8B2)-Biotin were additionally stained with Anti-Biotin-APC. Cells were counter-stained with CD45-FITC and analyzed by flow cytometry.
