Overview
Clone 1A8 specifically recognizes the mouse Ly-6G antigen and is suited for identification and enumeration of Ly-6G+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.
Details
Background information Ly-6G is highly expressed on neutrophilic granulocytes and expression greatly increases during granulocyte maturation.1 To a lower extent, Ly-6G is also expressed during the development of monocytes. In mouse bone marrow samples, clone 1A8 primarily detects granulocytes, but not lymphocytes or erythrocytes.1 |

Figure 1
Mouse splenocytes were stained with Anti-Ly-6G antibodies coupled to FITC (a), PE (b), or APC (c) and analyzed by flow cytometry. Cells stained with Anti-Ly-6G-Biotin (d) were additionally stained with Anti-Biotin-PE. All cells were counterstained with CD11b antibodies.
