Anti-FoxP3

Overview

FoxP3 is expressed predominantly in regulatory T cells (Tregs) and is a major marker and functional regulator of Treg cell development and function.^1,2The antibody is suitable for intracellular staining of FoxP3 in human, mouse, and non-human primate cells and subsequent identification and enumeration of these cells by flow cytometry. The FoxP3 Staining Buffer Set is optimized for intracellular staining of FoxP3 with the antibody clone 3G3.

Details

Background information
The Anti-FoxP3 antibody specifically recognizes the forkhead/winged-helix transcriptional regulator FoxP3, also known as forkhead box P3, scurfin, and JM2. Mutations in the FoxP3 gene are linked to the autoimmune manifestations observed in the Scurfy mouse and humans with immune dysregulation, polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked (IPEX) syndrome.^3,4 Studies in mice have shown that FoxP3-deficient animals lack Treg cells, whereas overexpression of the FoxP3 protein leads to profound immune suppression.

Human PBMCs were stained with CD4-FITC. Cells were fixed, permeabilized, and intracellularly stained with Anti-FoxP3-PE (A) or Anti-FoxP3-APC (B) using the FoxP3 Staining Buffer Set. Cells were analyzed by flow cytometry.
