Anti-Melanoma (MCSP)
Overview
The monoclonal Anti-Melanoma (MCSP) antibody binds to melanoma cells from human tissues or cell lines and is used for:
  • detection of disseminated melanoma cells, e.g. in peripheral blood1,2 or bone marrow by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy,
  • analysis of single-cell suspensions of skin biopsies or primary skin cell cultures by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.
Details
Background information
The Anti-Melanoma (MCSP) antibody recognizes the melanoma-associated chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (MCSP) antigen, also known as high molecular weight melanoma-associated antigen. MCSP is expressed on the majority (>90%) of human melanoma tissues and melanoma cell lines but not on carcinoma cells, fibroblastoid cells, and cells of hematopoietic origin3-6.
