FeraSpin™ nanoparticulate MRI agents - from physics to efficacy
FeraSpin™ is a unique family of size-selected iron oxide nanoparticles for use in pre-clinical MRI.
FeraSpin is very well tolerated and has excellent MR contrast efficacy in T1-weighted or T2/T2*-weighted imaging.

FeraSpin R is a super-paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle MRI agent for T2/T2*-weighted liver imaging. FeraSpin R has a large average particle size as well as a broad size distribution and is rapidly taken up by macrophages in liver and spleen.

FeraSpin XS is an ultra-small super-paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle agent for MR angiography (MRI). It has been size-selected from FeraSpin R and is also part of the FeraSpin Series presented below. It has the longest circulation time of the whole FeraSpin product family and can be imaged by both T1 (positive contrast) and T2/T2*-weighted sequences.

The FeraSpin Series is derived from FeraSpin R and encompasses six size-selected nanoparticulate agents with well-defined particle sizes from 10 to 100 nm. The range includes FeraSpin XS, FeraSpin S, FeraSpin M, FeraSpin L, FeraSpin XL, and FeraSpin XXL. The identical chemical composition and ultra-narrow size distribution of these particle fractions allows for fine-tuning of the pharmacologic profile applicable to your specific application - from long circulation in the blood pool to rapid accumulation in the reticuloendothelial system (RES) of liver and spleen. FeraSpin nanoparticles are very well suited for sequence development, MR physics and nanoparticle physiology studies.
