The quality of an experiment highly depends on the quality of the sample. Poor preparation of cell samples can lead to incorrect results. Miltenyi Biotec offers innovative instruments and reagents to facilitate optimum sample preparation for cell separation, cellular analysis, cell culture, and molecular analysis.
Sample preparation from tissues
The preparation of single-cell suspensions from tissue samples requires mild and gentle conditions. To ensure best possible conditions for tissue dissociation, Miltenyi Biotec offers the gentleMACSâ„¢ Dissociator.
The unique gentleMACS C Tubes are designed to obtain single-cell suspensions from tissues, whereas M Tubes are used for the homogenization of tissues or cells for molecular analysis.
Neural Tissue Dissociation Kits were developed for the preparation of single-cell suspensions from neural tissue. Optimized protocols are available for the use in combination with the gentleMACS Dissociator.
Single-cell suspensions ensure specific labeling conditions
Cell aggregates in cell suspensions should be avoided, because they can lead to non-specific enrichment of undesired cells, or to insufficient labeling. In cell culture experiments, cell aggregates or dead cells may lead to sub-optimal culture conditions and thereby influence the experimental outcome.
- Pre-Separation Filters allow the fast and easy removal of cell clumps from cell suspensions.
- The Dead Cell Removal Kit facilitates the enrichment of viable cells.
- Non-specific binding of antibodies or MACS® MicroBeads to Fc receptors can be avoided using MACS FcR Blocking Reagents for human or mouse.
Mixing of samples
The MACSmixâ„¢ Tube Rotator facilitates many steps of sample handling that require rotation of the sample tube. The instrument can operate independently of a permanent power supply and can be used at a wide temperature range. |
