MACS® Separation of human B cells and B cell subsets
Miltenyi Biotec provides a great choice of products and cell sorting strategies to isolate highly pure B cells from peripheral blood, bone marrow, and lymphoid tissues. Applying MACS® Technology, target cells can be either isolated directly by choosing a positive selection strategy or by magnetic labeling and subsequent depletion of unwanted cells. Furthermore, the MACS MultiSort strategy – a combination of direct magnetic labeling steps – and the combination of a depletion and positive selection approach allow to isolate B cell subsets that are not defined by a single cell surface antigen. For the evaluation of both, the separated and the unseparated cell fraction a range of cell analysis products, MACS Control, are available.

  • B lineage cells – Reagents for direct magnetic labeling of target cells according to lineage markers or for depletion of non-B cells.
  • B cell subsets – Reagents and strategies for magnetic sorting of naive, resting, memory and activated B cells.
  • Plasma cells – Reagents for enrichment of blood plasma cells or plasma cells from peripheral blood, bone marrow, and lymphoid tissue.
