Extracting biological information from microarray data
Our service has a modular structure and is ideally suited for analysis and interpretation of your gene expression data.
The most important step is mandatory data pre-processing (specific for different platforms, e.g. Agilent, Affymetrix, Illumina).
There are then two options for the identification of genes with interesting expression behavior: either discriminatory genes analysis (DGA), e.g. for sample group comparisons, or clustering, e.g. for time-course analyses or dosage-response studies.
Functional Grouping Analysis provides a quick overview of molecular processes or pathways involved in, or changed with, the changes in gene expression.
Pathway Analysis finally provides a more detailed interpretation on the functions of the genes with changed expression. We use standard programs such as Rosetta Resolver, GeneSpring, R / Bioconductor, freeware and self-scripted software.
